Flamenco Sketches to Orvieto Jazz Festival

Starting tomorrow and for the following 3 days Chano Dominguez will be performing at the Orvieto Winter Jazz Festival in Orvieto, Italy. This festival is organized by the same people that also puts together the storied Umbria Jazz Festival every summer in July. This year Barcelona Jazz Festival and Umbria Jazz Festival have partnered in presenting Italian and Spanish artists at each others festivals.

Chano Dominguez will be presenting the music from his upcoming March 13, 2012 Blue Note Records release entitled “Flamenco Sketches”. This is the line-up he brings with him to Orvieto:

Chano Dominguez: piano; Mario Rossy: bass; Blas Cordoba: vocals/percussion; Manuel Masaedo: percussion; Daniel Navarro: dance

It’s cold at this time of year even in central Italy, but it’s hard to imagine that Chano & his band won’t be bringing some blistering rhythmic heat to the jazz fans in Orvieto – not least on New Year’s eve! If you are there then please share any photos, videos or opinions of the show with us!
